Afterwards, it's up to you to build a fully operational base. You'll start the scenario with a power supply for building a Spice Melange refinery to generate money. As a 3D real-time strategy game, you'll begin by constructing a series of battle units, important housing structures (walls, construction yards, barracks, outposts) and vehicles this is vital in order to meet the mission objective. Her sisterhood is hoping that you will be victorious with that house above all others, as to create a clear faction in control of the Spice Melange in which her Order could form an alliance.Īfter selecting the house of your liking, a commander will give you a military briefing and objective. Having arrived with Lady Alara on the desertous Arrakis, she has enlisted you as a commander of one of the three military powers. Gut feelings aren't acceptable in their society. Led by cyborg-like officers, they go into battle with a strategic mentality and play for the odds. House Ordos is a bit more unorthodox than their warring brethren. These blood-drinking savages enjoy battles and chaos more than the actual victory they reign with widespread fear.

On the other hand, House Harkonnen is run by a tyrannical baron that demands victory.

The nobles function much like a normal army, giving commands for the side of good. The House Atreides loathes and fears the evil forces of the Harkonnen and wishes to form an alliance with the Fremen, strange sand-dwelling warriors that inhabit the bowels of the planet. Not only does each house desire control, they also have different reasons for entering the war. The three aforementioned forces include the noble House Atreides, the wicked House Harkonnen, and the enigmatic House Ordos. With all the bickering and fighting over Spice Melange, the Emperor has issued a challenge that basically states whoever controls the substance will control Arrakis. The mysterious spice can only be found on the planet of Arrakis every race in the known universe lusts for its power. Throughout the planet of Arrakis (a desert-like planet riddled with dunes and sand), three military powers have engaged in a fierce war to control a most prized resource known as the Spice Melange. From the developers at Westwood Studios comes Dune 2000, a real-time strategy game.ini file or the config tool (on same forum page) to adjust the resolution of the game. If you don't like installers you can download only the upgraded exe (from funkyfresh) from here (also called patch): Use the generated.
#Dune 2000 ps Patch#
Also make sure the game is the latest version: 1.06 (patch is on this website and you can check your version in the main game screen right bottom corner).Ī faster way would be to download the game with build-in high resolution patch: Īnother way is to get a clean working Dune 2000 version from here: Īpply high resolution patch or use.
#Dune 2000 ps mod#
If you did not mod the game, perhaps you have an unknown language version, you could zip the UI_DATA folder in the data folder and upload it so I can see where it breaks. Did you mod the game? If so, you need to find the 'damaged'. uil (user interface layout) file where the location data is in a different format than the code expects it to be. I think you might have an edited or unknown. The website has over 10000 downloads for the high resolution patch, but I get almost no feedback.

:DĬan I get around this problem if I install the game and the patch some other way so that I could play in 720p (which is the way it's meant to be played really if you don't have a 30" display at least)?
#Dune 2000 ps 1080p#
I can't do anything with those (I have a 24" 16:9 aspect ratio monitor and 1080p just makes everything way too small) so I chose not to install the patch through there but just manually apply it after the patching was done through the launcher and of course this was the result. I've seen that you have two options in the installer with the high res patch included: 1024x768 or 1920x1080.
#Dune 2000 ps update#
The issue being displayed here looks like the game was installed normally followed by the update to 1.6.1.5, and then the high resolution patch was run manually, which meant the update program installed the background image at the old resolution, instead of installing the patched image. The mod uses custom background images and your program patches them fine, the new version of the installer is setup to simply call your patch program and then copy the prepatched images over (the new files related to the mod that your patcher will not know to look for).
